Kristen Anne Bell is an American actor and singer born in the year 1980. Bell is a Michigan native, born and fostered by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). She is of Polish (mother's) as well as German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen discovered a passion for the arts at an early age on stage. She went to her audition in 1992 and was offered an appearance on Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell was accepted by her mother as an agent when she was thirteen years old. She was then cast for newspaper ads and commercials for TV. She is now also taking individual acting classes. Bell was in a role of minor importance, uncredited on the film Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell went to Shrine Catholic High School, where she took part in drama and music club. The Wizard of Oz was presented by the high school and she took home the role as Dorothy. Following graduation, Bell made the move into New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied musical theater. Bell, who graduated in 2001, left her college studies in order to take on in the role of Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also that Bell made her first appearance in a film that was credited to her, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in was cut and the credits are all that depict her. Bell played in the Broadway revival The Crucible starring Liam Neeson & Angela Bettis.
